Lionfish Hunt

Enjoy a pre-dive lesson about the invasive lionfish & how to use a pole spear, then join us for a shore dive where you can try your hand at spearing Lionfish.

Pre-Requisite - Open Water Certification + Dive within the last 6 months or a Check-Out Dive is required first

(add on computer or flashlight for $10 extra)

Options include:

1. Lionfish Hunt & Take Home (duration 2-3 hours)

   - Divers will take turns hunting lionfish, at the end of the dive, divers can take part in a lesson on gutting and cleaning the fish, and take their portions of fish to cook later. If Divers aren’t interested in keeping their fish they will be divided up and donated.

2. Lionfish Hunt & Grillup Lunch Experience (duration approx 4 hours)

   • Divers will take turns hunting lionfish and at the end of the dive divers can participate in prepping fish to be cooked on the beach. Lionfish is usually cooked over an open flame, and served with local sides.

3. Lionfish Hunt & Grillup Dinner Experience (duration approx 5hours)

   • Divers take turns hunting lionfish at the end of the dive divers can participate in prepping fish to be cooked on the beach. Our Dinner experiences we try to prepare the Lionfish in 2 ways, sometimes as a raw dish or ceviche as an appetizer, and the main course usually cooked over an open flame, and served with local sides.
